Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, located atop Chamundi Hills about 13 km from Mysore, is a sacred and historic temple dedicated to Goddess Chamundeshwari, a fierce form of Durga. Built in the 12th century and expanded by the Wodeyar kings, the temple features a magnificent seven-tiered Gopuram with intricate carvings in classic Dravidian style. The deity, Chamundeshwari, is shown seated on a lion, slaying the demon Mahishasura—symbolizing the victory of good over evil. The temple is not only a religious destination but also a place of scenic beauty and cultural significance. Visitors can reach the temple by vehicle or by climbing 1,000 steps from the base of the hill—a favorite among pilgrims and fitness enthusiasts. Along the way, stop by the massive Nandi statue carved from a single rock. Near the temple, a colorful statue of Mahishasura welcomes you. From the hilltop, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mysore city, especially stunning during sunrise, sunset, or the grand Dasara celebrations. Travel Tips: Visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds and heat. Footwear is not allowed inside, so wear easy-to-remove sandals. Combine your visit with nearby attractions like Mysore Palace and Karanji Lake. A trip to Chamundi Hills offers a perfect blend of spirituality, heritage, and natural beauty.

Sri Krishna Temple in Udupi:

Long ago, in the town of Udupi, a devout saint named Sri Madhvacharya was drawn by a vision to the seashore. There, he discovered a lump of gopichandana (sacred clay) floating in the sea. Hidden inside was a beautiful idol of Lord Krishna, believed to have been lovingly crafted by Devaki, Krishna's mother, in Dwaraka. Madhvacharya installed the idol in a temple he built, establishing the famous Udupi Sri Krishna Matha. The idol faces west, unlike most temples, and is worshipped through a small silver-plated window with nine holes called the Navagraha Kitiki. This tradition began when a humble devotee named Kanakadasa, once denied entry, saw Krishna miraculously turn to bless him through a wall — which cracked open to create the window. Since then, millions have flocked to the temple, drawn not just by devotion, but by the living miracles and the ever-giving Anna Prasada (free meals) offered to all.
